A.D. stands for “Anno Domini.” Which is short for “Anno Domini Nostri Iesu Christi.” Which is Latin for “In the year of our Lord, Jesus Christ.” It signifies the beginning of his era, not his death. I’m a little surprised someone named what-what-in-the-butt did not know this. Even more confusing is the fact that that Christ was born Before Christ. Possibly 2-7 years before the year 1 A.D. Which makes me think there is some sort of wibbly wobbly time travel at play.
